Zoho Office integriert Google Drive
Zoho Office hat seine Kommunikations- und Kollaborationslösung mit Google Drive integriert. Das gab der Google Apps und Microsoft Office Konkurrent gestern auf seinem Unternehmensblog bekannt. Dabei handelt es sich nicht um eine offizielle Partnerschaft zwischen Zoho und Google sondern lediglich um das Ergebnis einer neuen Chrome Erweiterung, mit der die Integration nun möglich ist.
Das Google “Apps” Universum
Der Vor- und Nachteil Google Apps zu nutzen besteht zum einen in der sehr tiefen Integration sämtlicher Google Produkte und Services. Zum anderen ist die Integration der Services von Dritten jedoch nicht sehr geschmeidig. Dokumente in Google Drive oder als Anhang einer E-Mail werden automatisch mit Google Docs geöffnet und können dort betrachtet oder weiterverarbeitet werden, das ist wirklich ideal. Es gibt daher kaum Gründe das Google Apps Universum zu verlassen. Es sei denn man möchte bzw. muss über den Tellerrand blicken und Services von Dritten nutzen. Ansonsten tut Google alles, um jemanden vollständig in deren Ökosystem einzuschließen.
Zoho vs. Google vs. Microsoft
Zoho muss daher etwas tun, um gegen Google sowie Microsoft mit seiner neu angekündigten Office Version wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Denn wie Google und Microsoft konzentriert sich Zoho auf das Geschäftskundensegment. Wie Google auf seiner Webseite berichtet, nutzen bereits 4 Millionen Unternehmen mit insgesamt 40 Millionen aktiven Nutzern weltweit Google Apps (Anmerkung: Auf Zahlen sollte man an dieser Stelle nicht unbedingt achten. Alleine ich habe 5+ Google Apps Domains registriert.) Zoho hingegen berichtet von 6 Millionen aktiven Nutzern.
Chrome Erweiterung notwendig
Um die Google Drive Integration zu verwenden, sind Zoho Nutzer gezwungen, die Chrome Erweiterung für Zoho zu nutzen. Dabei muss allerdings für jede Zoho Applikation wie Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet und Zoho Show die jeweilige Erweiterung separat hinzugefügt werden.
