RightScale kauft ShopForCloud und nennt es ab sofort PlanForCloud. Die Kosten in der Cloud im Blick behalten.

Cloud Management Anbieter RightScale hat sein Portfolio mit der Akquisition von ShopForCloud um einen weiteren Service für das Abschätzen von Kosten in der Cloud erweitert und dem Kind direkt einen neuen Namen gegeben: PlanForCloud.

ShopForCloud wird PlanForCloud

Bei ShopForCloud handelt es sich um einen schottischen Anbieter, der einen kostenlosen Service für das Forecasting von Kosten in der Cloud anbietet. Damit können Unternehmen ihr Budget besser auf die Nutzung spezifischer Architekturen, Modelle sowie Anbieter abstimmen. Nach der Übernahme hat RightScale seine neue Eroberung direkt umbenannt, aus ShopForCloud wird PlanForCloud.

Kosten in der Cloud überwachen

Nutzer können PlanForCloud ebenfalls dazu nutzen, um sich über Preisänderungen von Cloud Anbietern wie den Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, Microsoft Azure und Rackspace informieren zu lassen. Dazu ist es nicht notwendig ein Kunde von RightScale zu sein oder selbst Cloud Services zu nutzen. Das bedeutet, dass man nicht zwingend einen Account bei einem Cloud Anbieter besitzen muss, um Informationen zu erhalten. Das macht PlanForCloud ebenfalls für Unternehmen interessant, die noch Cloud Lösungen evaluieren. Zudem ist der Service für diejenigen interessant, die über eine Multi-Vendor Cloud Strategie nachdenken.

PlanForCloud erstellt Prognosen für mögliche Kosten in der Cloud eines Anbieters, speichert diese ab und aktualisiert diese immer dann, wenn sich die Preise ändern. Darüber hinaus können Nutzer sich einen 3-Jahres-Plan für mögliche Kosten in der Cloud erstellen lassen.
